SnickersText Box: This picture is Lynx at about 6 months. The lopsided appearance is encouraging. Text Box: “Settle down in there—can’t you see I am busy eating?!?! (kick)” May 24th, 2006 Text Box: And then it happened—about 9:10 PM Thursday night, May 25th 2006. It was day 327. I was lucky enough to see Lynx drop on a monitor my husband had set up. I grabbed my camera, ran outside and assisted with the birth. Here is the foal about 30 minutes old. Text Box: It’s a girl! She looks solid black. Lynx had a textbook delivery and her filly was running circles—wobbly ones — but circles around her mom within the hour. Text Box: A month old already! Text Box: Her name is Inkhada Midnight Milkyway, but we call her Snickers. We haven’t quite decided what color she is. And from the way she keeps changing, she hasn’t decided either. In these pictures, she is 2 months old. Text Box: December. About this time we are hoping she is with foal, and not just well fed!
